Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.

Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
Normalizer Templates
Normalizer templates identify the MATRIXX Data Containers (MDCs) and MDC fields, balances, quantities, or times that rating uses for normalization when deciding which rates to apply. Normalizer templates that perform normalization based on one or more field values require you to specify the field and the MDC containing it.
Delete a Normalizer Template
You can delete a normalizer template if there are no instances of the normalizer based on the template in My MATRIXX.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

  The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.
  - Pricing Configuration
    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.

    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
    - Normalization
      MATRIXX Engine uses a process called normalization to condense large sets of discrete field values into a manageable set of parameters. Each single normalizer parameter value represents an aggregate value set, so that assigning a result to every possible field value is not required.
    - Normalizer Templates
      Normalizer templates identify the MATRIXX Data Containers (MDCs) and MDC fields, balances, quantities, or times that rating uses for normalization when deciding which rates to apply. Normalizer templates that perform normalization based on one or more field values require you to specify the field and the MDC containing it.
      - Normalizing on B Number
        Specify configuration in the normalizer template to base normalization on data retrieved from the called party (B number).
      - Create a Balance Difference Normalizer Template
        Balance difference normalizer instances, created using this template, normalize on the difference between two balance amounts or the difference between a balance amount and a MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field or catalog item parameter and define the ranges of balance differences to associate with different results.
      - Create a Balance Distribution Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a balance or meter instance to use for a balance distribution normalizer. If the instance is periodic, it also specifies which period in the window to examine during normalization. Balance normalizers created from this template define ranges of balance amounts for comparison with a subscriber's balance during rating.
      - Create a Balance Spendable Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a balance instance to use for a balance spendable normalizer.
      - Create a Closed User Group Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines two MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) fields to check to determine whether the subscriber initiating the event is in the same group as the subscriber receiving the event.
      - Create a Date Set Match Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a list or an array field in an MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) containing a list of dates or datetimes to compare with the time of an operation, such as the event time in a Diameter message. Normalizers using this template evaluate to a match if the operation is on a date included in the list in the specified MDC field.
      - Create a Difference Range Normalizer Template
        Difference range normalizer instances, created using this template, compare two numeric values (integer or decimal) in MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) fields or catalog item parameters. The difference is normalized by the decimal ranges specified in the normalizer.
      - Create an Eligibility Feature Match Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines the match and non-match values for eligibility feature match normalizers.
      - Create an IPv4 Address Match Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a field in the network message that contains an IPv4 network address. When an IPv4 rating normalizer is used for determining rates, during authorization and rating, the value is compared to a list of IPv4 addresses in the normalizer and the rate associated with the matching IP address is used to rate the event.
      - Create an IPv6 Address Match Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a field in the network message that has an IPv6 network address. During authorization and rating, an IPv6 rating normalizer compares the field value to a list of IPv6 addresses in the normalizer and uses the rate associated with the matching IP address to rate the event.
      - Create a Multiplexing Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a normalizer that references one or more other normalizers (for example, one for 4G and one for 5G). During authorization and rating, a multiplexing normalizer checks the fields used by its referenced normalizers. If a field used by one of the referenced normalizers is a valid field in the message being processed, then the referenced normalizer is selected and used for rating.
      - Create a Numeric Equality Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field that holds a signed or unsigned integer value. Normalizers using this template define multiple numeric values for comparison with the field value during rating.
      - Create a Numeric Range Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field that holds a signed integer, an unsigned integer, or a decimal value. A numeric range normalizer defines multiple numeric ranges for comparison with the field value during rating.
      - Create a Phone Number Match Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a field in the network message or an object MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) that holds a phone number. Normalizers using this template define multiple number strings for comparison with the field value and define, for matching values, whether the match is the closest match or an exact match.
      - Create a Phone Number Pattern Match Normalizer Template
        The phone number pattern normalizer template defines a phone number field in the network message for comparison with a list of patterns defined in a phone number match normalizer and uses the rating formula associated with the matched pattern.
      - Create a Phone Number Set Contains Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a phone number field in one MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) and a list or an array field in another MDC that holds a list of phone numbers that get compared. Both fields should have the phone number data type.
      - Create a Quantity Distribution Normalizer Template
        The quantity distribution normalizer template enables you to charge different rates based on the usage quantity in a session.
      - Create a String Match Normalizer Template
        A string match normalizer template specifies a MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) string field that a string match normalizer uses to do string comparisons.
      - Create a String Set Matches Normalizer Template
        The string set matches normalizer compares a value in a MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field with a value in another MDC field. Both fields can either be a single string/phone number or a list/array of strings/phone numbers. The comparison could be an exact match, prefix match, or suffix match. If one field is an array/list and one field is a single value, then the system checks if anything in the list/array matches the single value (using the match mode). If a match is found, then the normalizer evaluates to true. It does not matter which field is the list/array and which is the single value. If both are arrays/lists, then the system checks if a value in one list/array matches any value in the other list/array.
      - Create a Time Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template uses the event start time for a time range normalizer. If an event crosses from one time range to another during rating, the event is measured across the ranges and the rate associated with each time range is used to rate the quantity in that range. The time range normalizer defines multiple ranges that the field value can map to during rating and span across, if necessary.
      - Create a Time Interval Range Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines a start time point and an end time point. A normalizer using this template defines ranges of time intervals to associate with different results.
      - Create a Zoning Normalizer Template
        This normalizer template defines two fields in a network message that contain string or phone number values. The zone normalizer instance then defines pairs of From and To zone values that the field values can map to during rating.
      - Delete a Normalizer Template
        You can delete a normalizer template if there are no instances of the normalizer based on the template in My MATRIXX.
      - Normalizer Template Properties
        All normalizer templates have a basic set of properties, such as a name, description, and normalization algorithm. They also have properties unique to the type of normalization they are performing, for example, a time zone normalizer has an additional property that specifies the time zone to use during normalizations — the event, event initiator, or system.
    - Normalizers
      You use normalizers to select a balance, rating formula, or policy profile, or to prioritize product offers in real-time during rating. You can reuse normalizers in balance filters, rate tables, policy tables, GL transaction type tables, GL account tables, and product offer priority generators.
    - Normalizer Value Lists
      A normalizer value list is used to define a list of values available to a normalizer. The values in a normalizer value list can be shared between multiple normalizers, ensuring that they all have the same list of values and indices in a matrix. For example, all the normalizers referenced in a multiplexing normalizer must use the same normalizer value list to ensure that they all have the same values.
    - Normalizer MDCs
      The following MATRIXX Data Containers (MDCs) have fields that can be used during normalization:
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Delete a Normalizer Template

You can delete a normalizer template if there are no instances of the normalizer based on the template in My MATRIXX.

Procedure

In Normalizer Templates, click next to the normalizer template to delete.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion:
If a normalizer instance created from this template is being used by another catalog item, you cannot delete the template. In such cases, click OK to cancel the operation and return to the Normalizer Templates list, or perform the next step to remove the instance from all catalog items that contain it so you can then delete the template.
If the item is used by other pricing items, and you still want to delete it, perform the following tasks:
1. Click Show Usage.
  Usage Display lists pricing items that include the item to delete.
2. In Usage Display, click the name of one of the items in the list.
  
  Note: To return to the original list of items to delete, click Cancel on the edit page and then select the Usage Display page.
3. Click in the row of the item to delete, to remove the pricing item, then select a different item to use for that pricing item. You might have to go to the tab containing the item.
4. Repeat this procedure until you have removed the item from each of the pricing items in the Usage Display list.
5. Return to the item list and try to delete the item again.
  If no more pricing items contain the item, the delete operation succeeds.
