AQM Configuration
The allocated quota is determined by a combination of service type definition properties, balance template properties, and metrics of historical quota and balance consumption.
Service configuration properties control the quantity (in bytes) and validity (in seconds) of the quota to be authorized. Balance template properties control the quantity of the units configured in the template, such as kilobytes or dollars, and validity (in seconds) of reservations against the balance. Service properties take into consideration only the quota velocity (for example, HD video usually gets a larger quota than email) while the balance template properties take into consideration quota velocity and price. For example, a cheaper offer usually gets a larger quota than a more expensive offer. If a maximum reservation is $1.00, 20MB at $0.05/MB could be allocated, but only 10MB at $0.10/MB.
- If the Use Default Auth
Quantity attribute is selected, the following Authorized
Quantities properties must have values:
- Default and its unit
- Reauthorization and its unit
- If the Is Quota Adaptive? property is selected, AQM ignores the default authorization and reauthorization values. Instead, it authorizes based on the configured minimum authorization and QVT values. AQM reauthorizes by analyzing past consumption and then estimating future consumption for the length of time indicated by the default QVT value.
Pricing validation prevents the configuration if Is Quota Adaptive? is selected for the context and no quota is requested or if Use Default Auth Quantity is selected.
AQM can be defined for each context in a service type.
