Diameter Quantity Unit

The Diameter Requested-Service-Unit and Used-Service-Unit AVPs can contain AVPs which are used to determine the quantity unit for the incoming event.

The possible quantity unit values are:
  • 0 = none
  • 100 = seconds
  • 200 = bytes
When the quantity unit AVPs are contained in the Requested-Service-Unit and Used-Service-Unit AVPs, they are mapped to the MDC fields described in Unit Fields and Values.

CC-Total-Octets TotalDataQuantity
--DataUnit 200
CC-Input-Octets InDataQuantity

CC-Output-Octets OutDataQuantity

CC-Service-Specific-Units Quantity

The unit values determine how the QuantityUnit field value is set. At a maximum, only one quantity unit AVP should be present in the Requested-Service-Unit and Used-Service-Unit AVPs. When none are present, the QuantityUnit field value is set to NONE, meaning that the message is a single event that does not have a duration or quantity. When there are more than one present, the last one in the network message that has a nonzero value determines the QuantityUnit field value.
