Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.

Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
Normalizers
You use normalizers to select a balance, rating formula, or policy profile, or to prioritize product offers in real-time during rating. You can reuse normalizers in balance filters, rate tables, policy tables, GL transaction type tables, GL account tables, and product offer priority generators.
Create a Multiplexing Normalizer
A multiplexing normalizer contains at least one normalizer that can be used when evaluating this normalizer.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

  The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.
  - Pricing Configuration
    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.

    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
    - Normalization
      MATRIXX Engine uses a process called normalization to condense large sets of discrete field values into a manageable set of parameters. Each single normalizer parameter value represents an aggregate value set, so that assigning a result to every possible field value is not required.
    - Normalizer Templates
      Normalizer templates identify the MATRIXX Data Containers (MDCs) and MDC fields, balances, quantities, or times that rating uses for normalization when deciding which rates to apply. Normalizer templates that perform normalization based on one or more field values require you to specify the field and the MDC containing it.
    - Normalizers
      You use normalizers to select a balance, rating formula, or policy profile, or to prioritize product offers in real-time during rating. You can reuse normalizers in balance filters, rate tables, policy tables, GL transaction type tables, GL account tables, and product offer priority generators.
      - Purchase Package Normalization
        Normalizers can be applied on individual product offer data or on the purchase package.
      - Create a Balance Difference Normalizer
        This normalizer compares the difference between two balance amounts or the difference between a balance amount and a numeric MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field or catalog item parameter to ranges of balance differences specified in the normalizer. For each matching range, the Charging Server uses the normalization value associated with that range.
      - Create a Balance Distribution Normalizer
        This normalizer defines ranges of balance or meter quantities that can be associated with different decision results.
      - Create a Balance Spendable Normalizer
        This normalizer determines whether any amount of a balance (or set of balances of the same class) is available for usage charging.
      - Create a Closed User Group Normalizer
        This normalizer determines if the subscriber making a call and the subscriber receiving a call are in the same group or on the same network.
      - Create a Date Set Match Normalizer
        This normalizer compares the time of an operation, such as the event time in a Diameter message, to a list of dates or datetimes saved to a custom MATRIXX Data Container (MDC), to decide whether there is a match. For example, you could use it to provide offers and base rates on special dates, such as subscriber birthdays, holidays, and the like.
      - Create a Difference Range Normalizer
        Difference range normalizers compare two numeric values (integer or decimal) in MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) fields or catalog item parameters. The difference is normalized by the decimal ranges specified in the normalizer.
      - Create an Eligibility Feature Match Normalizer
        An eligibility feature match normalizer defines an eligibility feature for comparison with all the features of all the catalog items owned by a subscription, group, or device.
      - Create an IPv4 Address Match Normalizer
        This normalizer defines a list of IPv4 addresses to compare to an IPv4 value in a network message. The match can be to an exact IP address or to an IP address that has the narrowest range, based on the binary address format and subnetting.
      - Create an IPv6 Address Match Normalizer
        This normalizer defines a list of IPv6 addresses that an IPv6 value in an network message can map to. The match can be to an exact IP address or to an IP address with a subnetting. The match is the one that has the narrowest range, based on the binary address format and subnetting.
      - Create a Multiplexing Normalizer
        A multiplexing normalizer contains at least one normalizer that can be used when evaluating this normalizer.
      - Create a Numeric Equality Normalizer
        This normalizer defines a list of signed or unsigned integer values that get compared to a field value in the network message to determine a match.
      - Create a Numeric Range Normalizer
        This normalizer defines ranges of integer values, unsigned integer values, or decimal values that an integer field value can map to. Each range is inclusive at the low end and exclusive at the high end: [low..high].
      - Create a Phone Number Match Normalizer
        This normalizer compares a phone number in one MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field, such as in the incoming network message, to a list of phone numbers saved in another MDC, such as a custom subscriber, device, or session MDC, to decide whether the set has a phone number that matches the other phone number.
      - Create a Phone Number Pattern Match Normalizer
        A phone number pattern match normalizer defines a list of patterns to compare to a phone number in an incoming network message during rating. Patterns include actual digits, an asterisk wildcard that is valid at the end of a pattern, a question mark wildcard that is valid at any location in a pattern, and choices and ranges, which are also valid at any location in a pattern.
      - Create a Quantity Distribution Normalizer
        This normalizer defines ranges of usage quantities to associate with different results. If the quantity splits across different normalization range values, each event segment uses the result associated with that range. The normalizer operates on the aggregated session quantity.
      - Create a String Match Normalizer
        A string match normalizer defines a list of string values to compare to a specified string field. The match can be configured as an exact match or the closest match. It can also be configured to be case sensitive and to compare the characters in a string from the beginning of the string (prefix match) or from the end of the string (suffix match). The string with the most number of correct sequential characters is chosen during rating.
      - Create a String Set Matches Normalizer
        The string set matches normalizer compares a value in a MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field with a value in another MDC field. Both fields can either be a single string/phone number or a list/array of strings/phone numbers. The comparison could be an exact match, prefix match, or suffix match. If one field is an array/list and one field is a single value, then the system checks if anything in the list/array matches the single value (using the match mode). If a match is found, then the normalizer evaluates to true. It does not matter which field is the list/array and which is the single value. If both are arrays/lists, then the system checks if a value in one list/array matches any value in the other list/array.
      - Create a Time Normalizer
        This normalizer defines time ranges to associate with different results. When an network message is received, the time field determines which range to use during rating. If the usage spans multiple time ranges, it is distributed across each range and the result associated with each range is used.
      - Create a Time Interval Range Normalizer
        This normalizer compares the differences between two points in time and defines ranges of time intervals to associate with different results.
      - Create a Zoning Normalizer
        This normalizer defines from and to zones that event field values can map to during rating.
      - Import/Export Normalizer Rows and Values
        In addition to adding and modifying normalizer rows and values manually or through a normalizer value list, you can bulk load select pricing data directly into certain types of normalizers using a CSV file. Export a CSV file that contains the current information from My MATRIXX, update the CSV file, and then import the updated CSV file into your normalizer.
      - Change a Normalizer
        Use the Normalizers interface to edit a normalizer to change a subset of the normalizer general configuration parameters, add rows to normalizer tables, and change the values of existing normalizer table rows.
      - Copy a Normalizer
        Use the Normalizers interface to copy an existing normalizer.
      - Delete a Normalizer
        Deleting a normalizer removes it from the pricing plan. If a normalizer is used by one or more rate tables, you will not be able to delete it until you remove the normalizer from all rate tables that contain it.
      - Normalizer Properties
        Most normalizers have several common properties, such as a name, description, and a default value. Balance normalizers and string normalizers have extra properties specific to the value that they are normalizing. This topic lists all common properties and properties specific to the balance and string normalizers.
    - Normalizer Value Lists
      A normalizer value list is used to define a list of values available to a normalizer. The values in a normalizer value list can be shared between multiple normalizers, ensuring that they all have the same list of values and indices in a matrix. For example, all the normalizers referenced in a multiplexing normalizer must use the same normalizer value list to ensure that they all have the same values.

      The following MATRIXX Data Containers (MDCs) have fields that can be used during normalization:
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Create a Multiplexing Normalizer

A multiplexing normalizer contains at least one normalizer that can be used when evaluating this normalizer.

About this task

My MATRIXX must contain the normalizer template that you want to use for this normalizer that implements the Multiplexing normalization algorithm.

Procedure

In Normalizers, click New Normalizer.
In Create New Normalizer:
1. In Name, enter a unique name.
2. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item.
3. (Optional) In External ID, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID on this pricing object. The external ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation of MATRIXX Engine. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
4. From the Normalizer Template list, select the name of the normalizer template that implements the normalization algorithm you want to use for this normalizer.
5. Click Create.
In Start Date/Time, use the date picker to select the date on which the object becomes active in the Pricing database and is first available for use, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Optionally, enter a time for when the object becomes active. The default start date/time is 2000–01–01 00:00:00. If applicable, the range in which the start date/time must fall is listed. For example:
- Select a date on or before 2021–12–01.
- Select a date on or after 2020–01–27.
- Select a date between 2000–01–02 and 2021–10–04.
Note: If you are creating a new revision of this object, the start date/time must be after the start date/time of the preceding revision and before the start date/time of the next revision. If you are making a copy of this object, the start date/time is not copied. The new object is the first revision, so it has the default start date/time of 2000–01–01 00:00:00.
Click Add Normalizer to add one reference normalizer. Multi-selection is not supported. Normalizers that do not use a normalizer value list are not displayed.

Note: Add is disabled until you select a normalizer.
Click Add.
Click Add Normalizer to add another normalizer if needed. Once the first normalizer is selected, only normalizers that use the same normalizer value list are displayed for selection.
Click Add.
