Charging Configuration
Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
Pricing Configuration
Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
Filters
Filters are independent, reusable, pricing items that can be associated with balances, meters, subscription product offers, and notifications.
Change a Filter
You can change any property of a filter or filter revision, including the decision table that it uses.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

  The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.

    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.

      Use the topics in this section to help you plan, configure, and manage your pricing plans.
    - Contracts
      A contract defines either a finance contract or a service contract. A finance contract defines the terms and conditions of a contract. A service contract defines the terms and charges for a service, for example, voice or data.
    - Decision Tables
      Decision tables consist of a number of _glossary/normalizer.html columns that define a set of business logic (one or more condition sets) that can be reused in different circumstances. Decision tables can be combined with a set of results into any type of component table, such as a policy table, rollover table, rate table, _glossary/gl_transaction_type.html table and account table, filter, or priority generator.
    - ETC Schedules
      Create an early termination charge (ETC) schedule that defines the range units and upper boundary of the range.
    - Filters
      Filters are independent, reusable, pricing items that can be associated with balances, meters, subscription product offers, and notifications.
      - Create a Filter
        Filters can be attached to meter templates and balance templates to determine whether they can be impacted during rating service usage. Filters can be associated with notifications to determine whether a specific notification is generated. You can add one or more filter tables to a filter.
      - Create a Filter Table
        A filter table uses decision tables to associate a set of conditions with a result value of Apply or Do not apply. Each column in the decision table can contain one or more normalizers and each row specifies the normalizer parameters and a result value.
      - Create a Revision of a Filter
        A new revision of a filter creates a new copy of a selected revision or version. The operation does not create a new pricing file in the pricing plan.
      - Change a Filter
        You can change any property of a filter or filter revision, including the decision table that it uses.
      - Delete a Filter
        Deleting a filter removes it from the pricing plan. You cannot delete a filter that is referenced by another price component.
      - Filter Properties
        Filters have references to one or more normalizers, in addition to the properties listed in pricing/r_cat_builder_gui_filter_props.html#reference_6D8EB3710A90439088805EF2603D765E__table_17BA875FC7A34EA1AFAD631E6AB98FB9.
    - Payment Schedules
      You can create payment schedules consisting of different installment payments for different time periods of a service contract term. Optionally, specify a final payment to be applied in the last period of the contract cycle.
    - Price Components
      MATRIXX price components are reusable pricing items that can be included in any number of product offers. They include charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures.
    - Rate Tags
      Rate tags are reusable pricing objects that you can set on rating formulas. MATRIXX Engine identifies charges that use rating formulas associated with the same rate tag and groups them together in the _glossary/edr.html it generates. An operator may use rate tags, for example, to separate charges for calling premium-rate numbers from charges for calling standard-rate numbers in the EDR.
    - Rate Tables
      Charges, discounts, and grants are comprised of one or more rate tables that define how and when a charge, discount, or grant is applied during rating.
    - Sponsorship
      Sponsorship lets you split a charge between more than one balance in a wallet using a sponsorship component added to a product offer. The sponsorship component includes a decision table that can select sponsorship profiles, each of which contains sponsorship rules.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.
  - Normalizer Configuration
    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.
- Policy Configuration
  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Change a Filter

You can change any property of a filter or filter revision, including the decision table that it uses.

Procedure

In Filters, click a filter name.
In Edit Filter:
1. In Name, enter a unique name.
2. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item.
3. (Optional) In External ID, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID on this pricing object. The external ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation of MATRIXX Engine. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
4. In Start Date/Time, use the date picker to select the date on which the object becomes active in the pricing database and is first available for use. Alternatively, enter the date in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Optionally, enter a time for when the object becomes active. The default is midnight. If applicable, the range in which the start date/time must fall is listed. For example:
  - Choose a date on or before 2021-12-01.
  - Choose a date on or after 2020-01-27.
  - Choose a date between 2000-01-02 and 2021-10-04.
  Note: If you are creating a new revision of this object, the start date must be greater than the start date of the previous revision and less than the start date of the next revision.
5. In Filter Table, click the table name. In Edit Filter Table, change the decision table by clicking Select Decision Table in the Decision Table panel.
Click Save.
