Create a Spending Limit Policy Counter

Spending limit policy counters include a name and a list of allowed values that can be returned as the status of that counter.

Procedure

  1. In Spending Limit Policy Counters, click New Spending Limit Policy Counter.
  2. In Create New Spending Limit Policy Counter, enter a name for the policy counter.
  3. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item.
  4. Click Create.
The new Spending Limit counter is automatically assigned an ID.
  5. To define the policy counter values, perform the following steps:
    1. In Allowed Values, click New Value.
    2. In Create New Value, enter the policy counter value that gets returned to the network. The name is displayed in the Policy Counters list in a policy template or a policy profile.
    3. Click Create.
  6. In Default, select the default policy counter value that is returned to the PCRF/PCF when no other defined values are valid during rating.
  7. (Optional) In Status if Not Present, select a policy counter value that is returned in an SNR if the policy counter is no longer available.
Note: If you do not set this value, the answer to the create_config.info question Global:What is the operator configured policy counter status? is included in the SNR when an offer expires or is canceled and the associated policy counter is no longer available. Otherwise the value set here is used.
  8. (Optional) Select Enable Priority to arrange the status values in order of priority.
If you select Enable Priority, a priority column displays to the left of the Value column in Allowed Values. Click Arrange icon next to a status value to move the row up (increase priority) or down (decrease priority). The status value in the top row is the highest priority, and each row after has a lower priority than the row above it. The list of policy counter values and their priorities is included in the compiled pricing file.
  9. Click Save.

Results
