Support for USSD Services
Call Control Framework (CCF) supports making Mobile Application Part (MAP) Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) call out requests to deliver USSD notifications to a subscriber. CCF also supports USSD services for queries, call back, and interactive menus using MAP-Process-UnstructuredSS-Request messages, and MAP-UnstructuredSS-Request messages.

For example, when migrating to the MATRIXX platform, CCF can relay incoming TCAP requests to the incumbent platform for subscribers that have not yet been migrated across. After handover, the incumbent platform processes the TCAP request without any further involvement with MATRIXX.

  - USSD Call Back Service
    The Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) call back service connects two mobile subscribers, the A-party (who is roaming) and the B-party, following a USSD call back request from the A-party. To ensure the call is screened and charged appropriately, a Mobile Application Part (MAP) AnyTimeInterrogation (ATI) request can be sent to the HLR to find the location of the A-party. Before connecting the two parties, Call Control Framework (CCF) uses two InitiateCallAttempt operations to establish separate call legs for the A and B parties.

    You can configure Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) services supported by Call Control Framework (CCF).
  - USSD Statistics
    Statistics are collected for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) notification messages, USSD queries, and USSD call back services. The USSD statistics are defined in the MATRIXX MIB files and are saved to the Statistics database.

USSD Notifications

MATRIXX Call Control Framework (CCF) supports making Mobile Application Part (MAP) Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) call out requests to deliver USSD notifications to a subscriber.

A USSD notification can be triggered by MATRIXX Engine for certain events, for example:

When a usage threshold is crossed.
During a call, when a subscriber has no credit or low credit.

CCF sends USSD notifications to the subscriber in MAP USSD Notify request messages.
