CS1 Reorigination Using TSANs

Call Control Framework (CCF) can process and charge for CS1 INAP calls using the Temporary Service Access Number (TSAN) reorigination service.

When a subscriber makes a call through a Service Switching Point (SSP) that can process calls using only CS1, the TSAN reorigination service returns a Temporary Service Access Number (TSAN) to the VMSC. Because the TSAN is a routable number, the SSP can pass the TSAN to a GMSC that can handle calls using CAP2, CAP3, or CAP4. The GMSC then sends a new, reoriginated InitialDP for the call to CCF for processing using the TSAN reorigination service.

The TSAN reorigination service can process calls that use the CS1 INAP protocol and calls that use the CAP1 protocol. For information about the reorigination process, see the discussion about CAP1 reorigination process.

CS1 calls and CAP1 calls share the same configuration for the TSAN reorigination service. For CS1 calls, you must map the CS1 application context to the TSAN service by setting the TCAP application context to 0.4.0.1.1.1.0.0. You set the TCAP application context in the TSAN service selector configuration in create_config.info, as follows:

Camel Gateway:TSAN_tsan1:Selector 1:What is the TCAP Application Context for this selector?0.4.0.1.1.1.0.0

For more information configuring the TSAN reorigination service, see the discussion about configuring CCF to use TSANs for reoriginating calls.
