Charging Function
This section describes the Charging Function components and how to deploy and configure them.
The Charging Function includes the following optional components that you can install in any combination to suit your needs:
- CHF Diameter Adapter — A optional MATRIXX component that converts 5G Charging Function (CHF) interface messages to 4G Diameter messages and then sends the Diameter messages to a third-party online charging system.
- NRF Client — An optional MATRIXX component, that when deployed with CHF Diameter Adapter registers with a third-party NRF, provides heartbeat messages, sends regular updates to the NRF about the CHF Diameter Adapter, and de-registers when CHF Diameter Adapter is uninstalled.
- CHF Proxy — An optional MATRIXX component that routes PCF/SMF 5G network traffic to 5G charging interfaces.
Note: Use NRF Client with at least one other Charging Function component. CHF Diameter Adapter and CHF Proxy can
be used individually or together.
