- About MATRIXX Cloud Native Installation and Upgrade
  MATRIXX Cloud Native Installation and Upgrade describes the tasks required to install MATRIXX Digital Commerce components as containers, using Docker and Kubernetes.
- MATRIXX Docker Images and Supporting Files
  The MATRIXX Digital Commerce software for Docker and Kubernetes is delivered in Docker images. The Helm chart and base configuration files are delivered in TAR archives.
- Installing MATRIXX Digital Commerce
  A containerized MATRIXX Digital Commerce deployment consists of containers running in pods in a multi-node Kubernetes cluster, requiring MATRIXX Digital Commerce Docker images and MATRIXX Engine and Traffic Routing Agent custom resource definitions and controllers.

    Before performing the upgrade you must first create the configuration for the new software version, from a combination of your existing configuration and answers to any new configuration questions.
  - Preparing Traffic Routing Agent Configuration
    Review the Release Notes for any changes that may affect your existing Traffic Routing Agent configuration files. Compare your existing files with the newer default configuration files in the example-tra-config-sideloader template file. Any changes should be packaged into a new version of your TRA sideloader Docker image and referenced when upgrading TRA-PROC, TRA-PUB, and TRA-RT/DR instances.

Upgrading or reconfiguring a Cloud Native MATRIXX Digital Commerce installation involves obtaining and hosting the Docker images and Helm charts, preparing configuration, generating new pricing information, and finally upgrading the deployment.

Note: When upgrading a multi-cluster Kubernetes deployment, perform the procedures in this section first on the standby cluster, then on the active cluster. Switch between clusters with the kubectl config set-context command.
